Steven Campbell, assistant director of the Institute of Transportation Studies (ITS), is a former transportation official for New York City Transit and consultant to the aviation industry.

Before coming to ITS in June 2002, Campbell was a vice president at Citibank where he developed e-commerce systems for the transportation industry. Before joining Citibank, he served as Chief Officer of Customer Service for New York City Transit, the country's largest public transportation agency. Earlier, he worked as an aviation consultant for Proudfoot Air and Transport Group and Simat, Helliesen & Eichner. He also worked as a senior analyst for both Northwest Airlines and TWA.

Campbell earned his B.A. from Northwestern University and a Master’s of International Affairs from Columbia University's School of International and Public Affairs.
