news>>Awards>>april 2007 Student awards roundup Big Wins for ITS students: UC Berkeley Nabs Three Eno Awards, Two Eisenhowers, the Horonjeff Memorial Grant and a national achievement award from China Transportation graduate students from UC Berkeley won three Eno Fellowships (out of a total of 20 nationwide) and two Eisenhower Fellowships this year. In a rare occurrence, one Berkeley student, Brittany Montgomery, was awarded an Eno and an Eisenhower, as well as the local and national Women’s Transportation Seminar awards. This year’s Eno winners also included Christopher Cherry and Meghan Fehlig Mitman. In addition to Montgomery, Amy Kim was awarded an Eisenhower. Yu Zhang received two awards: the Robert Horonjeff Memorial Grant as well as a National Excellent Abroad Student Award from the China Scholarship Council. The Eno Transportation Foundation Fellowships include a week-long visit to Washington, D.C. where fellows meet with top policymakers and transportation leaders in order to better understand how transportation policy is crafted and implemented. The Eisenhower Transportation Fellowships enable students to pursue advanced degrees in transportation-related fields by contributing to tuition and living costs. Fellows also receive funding to attend the annual Transportation Research Board conference in Washington, D.C.
