ITS Advisory Council Meets

ITS Director Samer Madanat (standing, center) convened a meeting of the ITS Advisory Council on May 19, 2006, in order to present highlights of current activities at the Institute and to solicit responses and suggestions.

The panel consists of both academic and private industry members. (See roster at end of story.)

People addressing the council included staff and faculty from ITS research units:

Jim Misener Safety Program Director at Partners for Advanced Transit and Highways (PATH),

Tim Lipman, a research scientist with ITS and the Energy Resources Group,

Gautam Gupta, graduate student researcher with the National Center of Excellence for Aviation Operations Research (NEXTOR),

Nikoloas Geroliminis, graduate student researcher with the Berkeley Center for Future Urban Transport,

YuWie Li, deputy director of the UC Berkeley Center for Future Urban Transport,and

Alex Farrell, Director of the newly established Joint Center for Transportation Sustainability Research and assistant professor with the Energy Resources Group. (See sidebar for story about the new joint center.)
