Sample Size: There were 12,476 survey responses at the three Washington-Baltimore airports (Baltimore/Washington International Airport, Ronald Reagan Washington National Airport, and Washington Dulles International Airport). Approximately 30% of the survey responses were collected at Ronald Reagan Washington National Airport.
Methodology:

Departing air passengers were surveyed in boarding lounge areas through the use of a self-completed questionnaire. The survey was conducted during two weeks in October 2000: from Sunday, October 15, to Saturday, October 28. A small number of flights that were either missed or required resurveying were surveyed during the period from October 29 to November 9. Approximately 200 domestic flights were surveyed.
